WellSense Health Plan, a nonprofit health insurance company serving New Hampshire Medicaid members since 2013, has filed to offer a variety of Affordable Care Act (ACA) health insurance plan options to New Hampshire residents through the Health Insurance Marketplace in 2025. The plans will be called WellSense Clarity plans, reflecting the company’s commitment to offering health insurance coverage that consumers can understand easily with no surprises. As with other ACA health insurance plans, qualifying Clarity plan members can receive help from the federal government to pay for both their monthly insurance premiums and healthcare bills.

WellSense Clarity plans will be available for purchase to both individuals and families through the company’s website and sales call center (866-939-7096) as well as through the healthcare.gov website and independent insurance brokers. All Clarity plans will include a robust network of providers, including major hospitals like Elliot Hospital, Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, Catholic Medical Center, Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, the Concord Hospital System, and Exeter Hospital, so that plan members can continue to get care in familiar locations. New Hampshire residents can review full details at wellsense.org/nhclarity in mid-October. Clarity plans will be available for purchase and enrollment starting Nov. 1, 2024.

“We know that hard working families will need more options for health insurance if they want to find a plan that truly fits their needs. That’s why we want to bring them our new line of WellSense Clarity plans to choose from” said Heather Thiltgen, President of WellSense Health Plan. “As a nonprofit health plan, we also hope that by increasing competition within New Hampshire’s health insurance market, we can help keep healthcare as affordable as possible.”

WellSense Clarity plans are designed for individuals and families who don’t get health insurance through their employer or through other programs, like Medicaid or Medicare. ACA plans sold by WellSense are eligible for premium subsidies that can help reduce the cost of coverage for members. WellSense Clarity plans will be available in five southeastern New Hampshire counties (Belknap, Strafford, Merrimack, Hillsborough and Rockingham), covering roughly 80% of the State’s population.
