Mail order pharmacy

WellSense members may choose to have maintenance medications sent to their homes instead of filling prescriptions at a local retail pharmacy. Maintenance drugs are medications that are filled regularly for conditions such as diabetes, asthma, high cholesterol and high blood pressure.

Mail order costs

Members can obtain a three-month supply of their maintenance drug at one time by signing up for our mail order program. Getting medications delivered to your home costs LESS than picking them up at the pharmacy, plus you can save yourself a trip.

Available drugs

WellSense mail order pharmacy program covers maintenance medications that are covered under your benefit plan. Call WellSense using the number on the back of your card to verify if your medication is covered through the mail order benefit.

Some examples of medications that cannot be ordered through the mail include:

  • Controlled substances
  • Over-the-counter (OTC) drugs
  • Drugs excluded from the pharmacy benefit
  • Drugs covered under the medical benefit
  • Biotech or specialty drugs

 

How to enroll

You can enroll in the mail order program through our partner, Cornerstone Health Solutions by filling out the Mail Order Enrollment Form. When completed, the form can be faxed to 781-805-8221 or emailed. You may call Cornerstone Health Solutions at 844-319-7588 to see if your medications are covered for mail order. If the medications are covered, you can start the mail order process. Once Cornerstone has your prescription and enrollment information, you can expect to receive your medications in 5-7 business days. Please make sure that you have enough medications to last you during this initial process. Please include the following information:

  • Your health insurance ID card
  • Medication name
  • Your prescribing provider’s name and phone number
  • The address the medication will be shipped to

Cornerstone Health Solutions will send your prescription orders to the address you provide when you place your order. Medications will be shipped for free using first class mail delivery services.
